Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced litigator to join its Atlanta office in the Global Insurance Department. The successful candidate will handle sophisticated, high-exposure litigation involving property and casualty claims, transportation and trucking matters, commercial litigation, environmental and toxic tort claims, and other complex civil litigation.
Duties
- Independently manage a substantial litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
- Represent insurers, corporations, and other commercial clients in complex litigation matters.
- Defend and advise clients in property and casualty, transportation, commercial, and environmental litigation.
- Take and defend fact witness, corporate representative, and expert depositions.
- Draft and argue dispositive motions and other substantive filings.
- Work closely with experts, consultants, and clients to develop case strategy.
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff.
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on complex national matters.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to the Georgia Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
- 8+ years of litigation experience.
- Experience handling complex civil litigation matters through all phases of litigation.
- Significant deposition, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation experience.
- Experience representing insurance carriers, transportation companies, or other commercial entities is preferred.
- Experience with insurance coverage litigation, transportation and trucking matters, environmental litigation, toxic torts, or complex casualty claims is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and client counseling abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and teamwork.
Education
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Certifications
