Job summary

Centroid Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to manage Linux, Unix, and Windows server environments, collaborating with networking, database, and development teams. You will install, patch, integrate, and administer systems while supporting architecture design and ongoing maintenance across Oracle engineered systems, ZFS Appliance, and multi-cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years Linux/UNIX administration, installations, and support.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud or Azure/AWS.
• Experience with Linux mail servers (Sendmail or Postfix).
• Proficiency in virtualization (Oracle VM, VMware, Solaris LDOMs/Zones).
• Familiarity with Oracle engineered systems (ODA, Exalytics, ZFS Appliance).

Responsibilities

• Perform UNIX system administration at an advanced level.
• Diagnose complex system, network, and app issues with IT teams.
• Install software products, tools, and support utilities.
• Apply OS patches in coordination with DBAs and app support.
• Support virtualization technologies and automation scripts.
• Develop or maintain scripts to automate processes.
• Communicate technical information clearly, orally and in writing.
• Work with Windows laptops, VMs, and virtual desktops to complete duties.
