Job summary

The AES Group is seeking a Senior Linux/UNIX System Administrator to manage and secure Linux-based environments, including RedHat and Solaris, with cloud migration support.

The role requires 5+ years in Linux/UNIX, Security+ certification, and the ability to lead automation efforts using scripting and containers. A Top Secret/ IAT Level 2 clearance is required, with potential for growth within a technology-driven team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux/UNIX system administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of RedHat 7.x and Solaris variants.
• Security+ certification required; RHCSA/RHCE preferred.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus.
• Top Secret Clearance and IAT Level 2.
• Oracle Solaris Certified Associate and/or RHCSA/RHCE credentials.

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux/UNIX-based systems, including RedHat and Solaris.
• Perform proactive space management, scalability improvements, and high-availability strategies.
• Support system migrations, including physical-to-virtual conversions and cloud integrations.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure uptime.
• Develop and document scripts for automation of administrative tasks.
• Assist in IT infrastructure replacement plans and hardware refresh cycles.
