Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, and maintain a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. You will join a team dedicated to protecting national security by delivering robust software with modern tooling.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, strong Linux experience, and hands-on Rust and Python development. Direct hire only; on-site work location preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Rust and Python
• Experience using Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools
• Experience interfacing with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools including Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Work as part of a team to implement software that supports mission critical capabilities for national security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust software components.
