Job summary

MANTECH is seeking a proactive Senior Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to deliver Tier III Linux/RHEL support on-site. You will install, configure, and optimize server environments, lead engineering projects, and document processes for repeatable IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years Linux/RHEL experience or equivalent substitution.
• Hands-on CLI experience with Linux/RHEL on-premise environments.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience upgrading, migrating, and deploying Linux/RHEL servers.
• IAT Level III/DoD 8140 Advanced certification within 6 months of hire.
• DoD 8570 Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier III IT Systems support for Linux/RHEL server environments.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux/RHEL servers for reliability and security.
• Diagnose performance, security, and technical issues across the platforms.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and backups; perform test restores and updates.
• Lead development and documentation of system processes; train team members.
• Write SOPs for repeatable tasks and contribute to project releases.
• Participate in ITIL processes and Change Requests across service lifecycle.
