Job summary

London Approach is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support mission-critical government infrastructure in Springfield, VA. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance and fully onsite work five days a week.

You will administer enterprise Linux servers, monitor performance, and resolve complex issues while ensuring uptime, security, and system integrity in a secure federal environment. This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity offering growth and stability.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering Linux systems in production.
• Proficiency with Linux CLI and shell scripting.
• Experience with security, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, firewalls and related protocols.
• Able to work independently in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux servers in secure production environments.
• Monitor system performance, availability, resource utilization, and infrastructure health.
• Diagnose and resolve complex Linux OS, networking, storage, and application issues.
• Handle escalated incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Manage system patching, security configurations, and vulnerability remediation per federal requirements.
• Develop automation scripts using Bash or Python to improve operations.
• Support system deployments, configuration management, and infrastructure improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to maintain secure systems.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system configuration records.
