Job summary
redalpha is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator/Engineer to support a high‑availability enterprise environment serving the Intelligence Community in Maryland. You will administer Linux-based infrastructure, virtualization, and application platforms with emphasis on reliability and security.
Responsibilities include managing RHEL/CentOS, deploying JBoss/WildFly, creating VMware virtual machines, and implementing system hardening.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or a technical discipline; 4+ years may substitute for degree.
- 10+ years of systems administration experience.
- Security+ certification required.
- Proficiency with Linux (CentOS, RHEL).
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining JBoss/WildFly.
- Experience with VMware VM creation, configuration, and operation.
Responsibilities
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS).
- Support high-availability, secure mission-critical infrastructure.
- Install and support JBoss application servers.
- Create and manage VMware virtual machines and infrastructure.
- Implement system hardening and security/compliance controls.
- Automate tasks with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and shell scripts.
- Support storage, networking, authentication services and related infra components.
- Monitor performance and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.
