Job summary

Red Alpha is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support a mission-critical software development effort that provides automated data processing, analysis, and reporting to the customer. You will join an operations support team responsible for the enterprise architecture and work independently, learning new tasks over time.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope within the Federal Government is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required; four (4) years of additional database administration experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• General Linux experience with CentOS/RHEL is preferred.
• Experience with Puppet is required.
• Knowledge of RMF and vulnerability scans is expected.
• Experience with Docker/Podman and automation (e.g., Bash scripting, Ansible) is required.
• Familiarity with Git (Bitbucket/GitLab) is needed.
• Willingness to support across systems and assist ad hoc.
• Experience maintaining/troubleshooting virtual infrastructure (VMware).
• Experience managing DNS/DHCP/Active Directory.

Responsibilities

• Perform Linux system administration.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot with Elastic Grafana/Kibana.
• Work with Jira for workflow management and Confluence for documentation.
• Provision virtual machine resources and manage TPAM accounts.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned outages.
• Collaborate with division-wide lab for development/testing support.
• Review security scans and coordinate corrective actions.
