Job summary

Digital Consultants, LLC in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to manage enterprise RHEL environments across AWS, on-premises, and global infrastructure. You will implement baselines, patch systems, and harden security in alignment with STIGs and RMF compliance.

The role emphasizes automation with Ansible, Puppet, and Chef, plus collaboration with IA/Cybersecurity teams to strengthen resilience and performance of JWICS and MI domains within INSCOM GISA.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field OR 15 years of related experience.
• Required Skills: Experience as a Red Hat Linux Administrator.
• Clearance: TS/SCI
• Certification: RHCSA and Cloud-related or relevant specialized certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enforce standardized RHEL baselines per security requirements.
• Deploy and manage RHEL systems across lifecycle (install, config, upgrades, patching).
• Manage RHEL packages and repositories (YUM/DNF).
• Configure and maintain enterprise Linux services (DNS, DHCP, NFS).
• Manage user accounts, permissions, authentication, and access controls.
• Apply kernel updates, patches, and configuration changes in prod/dev.
• Monitor systems for performance, security, availability, capacity.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Support Linux systems in enterprise applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with network admins and application teams to integrate systems.
