NTT DATA is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer – Server Migration in Salt Lake City to lead end-to-end data center migrations. You will migrate VMware ESXi hosts/VMs using vMotion, manage iSCSI/LVM storage, and build repeatable automation.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years IT, 4+ years migration experience, and strong Bash/Python skills, with OpenShift/Kubernetes and networking know-how to modernize the Linux compute platform.

Formación

• 8+ years of overall IT experience with at least 4 years of hands-on Linux/Unix engineering.
• 4+ years in large-scale server or data center migrations.
• 3+ years of deep VMware ESXi/vSphere experience.
• 4+ years of iSCSI networking and LVM expertise.
• Proficient in Bash and Python.
• Strong understanding of networking, CI/CD, and container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes).

Responsabilidades

• Own and engineer the Linux compute platform across migration phases.
• Plan and execute end-to-end server migrations; coordinate waves and rollback plans.
• Migrate VMware ESXi hosts and VMs using vMotion, Storage vMotion, and cold migration.
• Manage iSCSI storage connectivity, LVM provisioning, and filesystem validation.
• Build automation and runbooks to make migration workflows repeatable and reliable.
• Troubleshoot performance, application, and infrastructure issues during cutover.
• Maintain security, stability, and compliance across Linux infrastructure.
• Contribute to modernization efforts involving Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related platform tech.
