TechSurSolutions in the DC metropolitan area seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer – Linux with 8+ years of hands-on enterprise IT experience.

You will lead Linux administration, automate with Ansible, and manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure) while collaborating with clients and application teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security. The role focuses on RHEL deployment, middleware management (Apache/Tomcat/JBoss/Websphere), OpenShift guidance, and DevOps tooling to modernize

Qualifications

8+ years of Linux systems engineering/administration.
Strong RHEL (7–9) administration experience.
Hands-on Ansible automation and Tower/AWX.
Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
Familiarity with OpenShift and middleware servers.

Responsibilities

Maintain and support IT infrastructure including server hardware and Linux operating systems.
Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Linux OS (RHEL 7, 8, 9).
Install, configure, and manage middleware components such as Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, WebSphere.
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for OS upgrades, OS hardening, and automation tasks.
Experience with Ansible Tower / AWX for configuration management and orchestration.
Build and manage virtual machines in Azure Cloud, including mobility and services migration tool installation.
Provide guidance and implementation support for OpenShift and Azure cloud environments.
Interact with clients to resolve system, application, and infrastructure-related issues.
Analyze application performance and ensure availability and performance objectives are met using monitoring and performance tools (AWS).
Manage DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, OpenShift, AWS CodeDeploy.
Develop AWS CloudFormation templates to automate EC2 provisioning, software installation, and service startup.
Deploy and manage application updates across different versions on JBOSS and Tomcat environments.
Ensure system security, compliance, and best practices across on-prem and cloud platforms.
