Job summary

Hallmark Global Solutions Ltd. is seeking an ITAP / Linux Systems Engineer to operate, automate, and support critical Linux infrastructure used by engineering and cloud-platform teams.

You will provide system administration, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production-support across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. Key responsibilities cover installation, patching, automation with Ansible/Python/Bash, access control, storage and network services, and on‑call support.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux system-administration and production-support experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across operating systems, networking, storage, and applications.
• Proficiency with Bash and at least one additional language such as Python or Perl.
• Experience with Ansible or another configuration-management tool.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, SSH, firewalls, and load-balancing concepts.
• Experience with patching, security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and access management.
• Familiarity with VMware, KVM, or another virtualization platform.
• Experience using monitoring and logging platforms.
• Understanding of incident, problem, change, and release-management processes.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, patch, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux systems.
• Support RHEL, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, SLES, or comparable distributions.
• Provision physical and virtual servers and maintain standardized operating-system images.
• Automate system configuration and routine operations using Ansible, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
• Manage user access, permissions, SSH, service accounts, certificates, and system-security controls.
• Support DNS, DHCP, NFS, file systems, storage mounts, network connectivity, and related infrastructure services.
• Monitor system availability, capacity, performance, logs, and security events.
• Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, I/O, process, network, and application-performance issues.
• Support VMware, KVM, OpenStack, Azure, or other virtual and cloud environments.
• Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, backup validation, and recovery testing.
• Respond to incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain configuration standards, SOPs, runbooks, inventory, and operational documentation.
• Participate in change management, scheduled maintenance, and on‑call support as required.
