Job summary

Amentum seeks a Sr. Systems Administrator (Linux) for a DoD role on Kauai, HI to oversee enterprise Linux infrastructure in support of Navy operations.

The ideal candidate will lead teams, implement RMF/NIST controls, perform patching, and ensure cybersecurity across classified and unclassified networks. This position requires Top Secret clearance and offers challenging, impactful work.

Qualifications

• Two years of System Administration/IT experience.
• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Experience with DoW RMF and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience with VMware and Nutanix virtualization.
• Must be able to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer Red Hat Linux in classified and unclassified environments across Navy networks.
• Implement RMF security controls and DISA STIGs compliance.
• Apply patches per DoW and Navy policies.
• Manage virtualization platforms and lifecycle (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Support cybersecurity teams for ATO/POA&M/audit readiness.
• Develop PowerShell scripts for automation.
• Maintain system documentation and SOPs.
• Mentor junior administrators.
• Participate in Change Control Boards (CCBs) and Configuration Management Boards (CMBs).
• Assist with incident response and disaster recovery.
