Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage Linux server operations, automation, patching, and integration with enterprise applications. This role may involve on-site visits in San Antonio and offers remote work with occasional in-person collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of IT and systems administration experience, familiarity with VMware/ESXi, Active Directory, ERP integrations, and SSL certificate management.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of relevant IT and systems administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or IT.
• Experience with Linux server operations, backups, patching, and integration with enterprise applications.
• Strong scripting and automation skills.
• VMware/ESXi experience.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and ERP system integrations.
• Experience with MSSQL or other databases.
• SSL certificate installation and management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Manage system services, storage, file systems, logging, and scheduled tasks.
• Troubleshoot OS-level performance and availability issues.
• Support Linux server operations and backups; integrate with enterprise applications.
• Work with Active Directory and ERP systems integration.
• Experience with VMware/ESXi virtualization.
• Configure applications to connect to backend databases (MSSQL and others).
• Install and configure SSL certificates.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including after hours and weekends.
• Communicate effectively with peers and leaders.
