Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator in Maryland to advance enterprise IT operations. You will install and maintain Linux-based systems, ensure security, monitor performance, and automate with IaC tools.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related experience
• Security clearance TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience in System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large-scale Linux cluster environment
• Familiarity using Splunk for ingesting, indexing, searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data
• Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments
• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
• Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFS
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite such as Jira and Confluence

Responsibilities

• Provide support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software
• Manage day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for compute, network, memory, and storage components
• Maintain system security integrity and configure network components
• Implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Sustain large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
• Operate VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments and automate tasks with IaC
• Comply with security policies and participate in security compliance reviews
• Monitor and analyze system performance using Splunk, Nagios and related tools
