Position Overview

The Sr. Platform System Administrator is responsible for the design, installation, upgrades, automation and maintenance of server platforms and operating systems. This includes proven ability to execute system upgrades, maintain current patch levels, and troubleshoot complex issues as they arise. The candidate must have a proven track record of administering Linux operating systems. The individual should also be able to support the full product lifecycle from rack and stack to final decommission of assets.

Responsibilities

Design, install, upgrade, automate, and maintain server platforms and operating systems.
Execute system upgrades and maintain current patch levels.
Troubleshoot complex issues as they arise.
Support the full product lifecycle from rack and stack to final decommission of assets.
Be available on-call 24x7 on a rotational basis, with occasional weekend and non-business hour activities. Some remote work can be arranged following a 6-month probationary period.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience as a System Administrator in an enterprise environment or comparable certification and education.
Proven track record of administering Linux operating systems and managing system lifecycles.
Expertise in Linux OS administration, maintenance, and a solid understanding of automation platforms, preferably Ansible.
Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems.
Experience with Exchange Online, PowerApps forms, and Azure DevOps.
Experience administering Cisco UCS blade server hardware and Cloud Infrastructure.
Conceptual knowledge of ITIL.
Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects, service requests, and incidents.
Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds or equipment as needed.
Self‑starter with ambition and a positive attitude.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience, or equivalent industry certifications (Red Hat, Microsoft, COMPTIA).
Additional certifications are a plus: Linux, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, ITIL v4.
