CFS in Lansing, MI is seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain and support our enterprise infrastructure across Windows, Linux, virtualization, containers, networking, cloud services, and backup environments.

The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting, hands-on experience with Hyper-V, Kubernetes, Docker, Microsoft 365, and automation using Ansible or PowerShell. You will contribute to infrastructure improvements and document changes for stakeholders.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/CS/IS or related field.
• 2+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure administration experience.
• Strong Windows Server, Hyper-V, and Microsoft 365 experience.
• Hands-on Linux administration experience (Ubuntu or similar).
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker container environments.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, hybrid identity, and enterprise authentication services.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (VLANs, firewalls, routing, switching).
• Experience with backup, DR, and data protection best practices.
• Experience with automation and IaC tools (Ansible, scripting).

Salary: $70,000-$78,000 + Up to 5% Annual Bonus

Job Overview: The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization's enterprise infrastructure across Windows, Linux, virtualization, networking, cloud services, and backup environments. This role will serve as a key technical resource, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of critical systems while supporting ongoing infrastructure improvements and operational initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience working in complex IT environments, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service and reliable technology solutions.

Responsibilities Of The Systems Administrator

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Hyper-V virtualization platforms, failover clusters, and SAN storage infrastructure.
• Manage and support Kubernetes and Docker container environments, including deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments, including user management, authentication, security, and identity services.
• Support and maintain Linux server environments, including system administration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate on the management of network infrastructure, including firewalls, VLANs, routing, switching, and connectivity.
• Monitor, maintain, and validate backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring successful backups and recoverability of critical data.
• Leverage Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and other automation tools to streamline infrastructure administration and operational processes.
• Perform system upgrades, patch management, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
• Support organizational phone systems and related communication technologies.
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate infrastructure changes, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of infrastructure and application-related incidents.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic technology initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Preferred Experience Of The Systems Administrator

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience administering enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience with Windows Server administration, Hyper-V, and Microsoft 365.
• Hands-on experience with Linux administration, including Ubuntu or similar distributions.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes and Docker containerized environments.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, hybrid identity management, and enterprise authentication services.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including VLANs, firewalls, routing, switching, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and data protection best practices.
• Experience utilizing automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools, including Ansible and scripting technologies.

Bonus Experience Of The Systems Administrator

• Experience with GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
• Knowledge of SAN storage, iSCSI, and enterprise storage environments.
• Experience configuring and maintaining backup immutability solutions.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Experience supporting telephony, audiovisual, or collaboration technologies.
• Relevant technical certifications related to Microsoft, Linux, cloud, networking, or infrastructure administration.
