Job summary

A leading defense contractor is seeking an experienced Linux Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide advanced systems engineering within a secure Defense Intelligence Agency environment. This role involves maintaining and optimizing Linux systems, with responsibilities including system hardening and automation. The ideal candidate must have 8+ years of experience in Linux administration, familiarity with RHEL, and hold a TS/SCI clearance. This position demands a strong understanding of cross-domain security architectures and donning multiple supportive roles.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain CI Polygraph.
• 8+ years experience administering Linux systems in secure environments.
• 3+ years supporting cross-domain or multi-enclave environments.
• Advanced knowledge of RHEL 7/8/9 including system hardening.
• Familiarity with RMF/ATO processes and audit log management.

Responsibilities

• Lead system engineering, patching, configuration of RHEL systems.
• Implement and maintain DISA STIG-compliant baselines.
• Collaborate with CDS engineers and Information Assurance personnel.
• Troubleshoot kernel-level issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Document engineering decisions, operational procedures and configurations.
