Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Linux Server Systems Engineer to support the National Digital Exploitation & OSINT Center (NDOC). You will design, deploy, and optimize Linux-based server infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.

The role emphasizes automation, system hardening, and collaboration with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, scalable operations. This is an on-site position at the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
• Experience engineering, deploying, integrating, and maintaining Linux/UNIX server environments.
• Experience with Linux OSs including RHEL, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux, and Ubuntu.
• Experience with configuration management and IaC/automation tools (Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef).
• Experience with server patch management and lifecycle management.
• Scripting experience in Linux shell, Python or similar.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, integrate, configure, and optimize Linux server solutions across physical and virtual environments.
• Perform systems engineering activities including requirements analysis and system testing.
• Develop solutions for modernization, scalability, reliability, and lifecycle management of Linux infrastructure.
• Analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement engineering solutions.
• Design automation for provisioning, patching, compliance, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
