Job summary
Ecolab is seeking a Lead Linux Platform Engineer to drive the Ansible Automation Platform and oversee a fleet of Linux servers across OnPrem and cloud environments. You will lead automation, patching, monitoring, and incident resolution while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams.
The role demands a UNIX/Linux background, strong scripting, and Azure experience, with a willingness to work nights and weekends as part of on-call rotations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 8 years of IT experience with Linux environments.
- 5 years of UNIX Server experience (SLES/RHEL; AIX a plus).
- 5 years of Ansible experience and automation background.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends, on-call rotations.
- Experience with Azure cloud and Linux administration.
Responsibilities
- Technical lead for the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) with playbook design for DR and Linux ops.
- Operate and support ~600 Linux servers across OnPrem and Cloud environments.
- Resolve break/fix incidents in the team queue and provide root cause fixes.
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Linux servers for HA and scalability.
- Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resources.
- Collaborate with network, SAP, DBAs, and app developers on projects.
- Drive major IT projects on the Linux platform.
- Lead security, vulnerability, and patch initiatives for Linux.
