Job summary
Amazon's AWS Hardware Engineering team is seeking a Linux Kernel Engineer to accelerate kernel initiatives across millions of servers worldwide. You will patch, develop, and upgrade the kernel for server management controllers, ensuring security, compliance, and high availability for AI/ML workloads.
You will lead cross-functional efforts spanning kernel security, hardware enablement, and platform services, mentoring teammates and shaping deployment strategies for large-scale infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming in at least one language.
- 5+ years in design/architecture leadership for systems.
- Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
- 5+ years SDLC experience with coding standards and reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop firmware solutions for AWS servers.
- Lead the complete development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
- Architect and implement firmware deployment strategies with security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for integration into firmware stack.
- Mentor teammates and improve development processes.
