Job summary

Arista Networks is seeking a Linux Kernel Senior/Lead Software Engineer to contribute to the EOS kernel, develop features, and collaborate with hardware teams for CPU and NIC integration. You will work with a team of kernel engineers to push mainline improvements and mentor junior staff.

The role requires strong C, C++, and Python expertise, deep kernel troubleshooting skills, and experience with x86/ARM architectures.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS/EE/CE or equivalent work exp.
• Expert in C with strong Linux kernel experience.
• Familiar with C++, Python and kernel features.
• Experience debugging kernel issues and optimising performance.
• Knowledge of x86/ARM architectures and CPU subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Track Linux kernel developments and identify features for Arista EOS.
• Develop and maintain EOS Kernel features and tests using C, C++, Python.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to qualify CPUs/NICs for EOS.
• Contribute features back to mainline kernel where possible.
• Provide technical leadership across kernel related projects and tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and support customer-facing teams.
