Job summary

Deloitte’s GPS practice seeks a senior cyber engineer in Huntsville, AL, to support OT security, Linux infrastructure, and DevSecOps integration on government programs. You will collaborate across engineering, development, and security teams, ensuring STIG/NIST/RMF compliance and rapid incident response.

Role requires 12+ years of experience, Active Secret clearance, and onsite work five days a week. Travel up to 20% is anticipated as projects vary by client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• Must be local to Huntsville, AL and able to come onsite 5 days a week.
• 12+ years of total professional experience.
• 5+ years of system/network administration for high‑security or government programs, including team and technical leadership.
• Hands‑on experience administering and automating Red Hat Linux environments in production settings.
• Experience meeting DoD standards for STIG compliance, ATO, RMF, and vulnerability management.
• Understanding of DevSecOps automation (Ansible, Git, Bash) and monitoring solution integration.
• Ability to travel 20%, on average.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day performance, availability, and security of OT‑focused network and monitoring solutions in classified and mission‑critical environments.
• Assess network and server infrastructure to identify opportunities for optimization, hardening, and operational improvement across Linux‑based environments.
• Automating system baselines, patching, and administrative processes using tools such as Ansible, Bash, and Kickstart.
• Collaborating with engineering, development, and security teams to support DevSecOps practices and maintain alignment with DISA STIGs, NIST, RMF.
• Troubleshooting Linux, network, and infrastructure issues; maintaining technical documentation; and reporting progress to stakeholders.
