Job summary

Exegy in St. Louis, MO seeks an experienced System Engineer to lead Linux systems, bare-metal provisioning, and infrastructure networking.

You will own automated OS provisioning workflows, configuration management, and hardware validation tooling while serving as a senior escalation resource for deployment and operations teams. Key duties include designing provisioning pipelines, managing Puppet/Ansible automation, developing Python/Bash tools, and overseeing VPN, routing, and TLS lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Enterprise Linux experience (RHEL/Rocky) with RHCSA/RHCE a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Puppet and Ansible configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain automated provisioning workflows including network boot environments and unattended Linux installations.
• Build and maintain Puppet and Ansible automation, including modules, manifests, and data hierarchies.
• Develop Python and Bash applications for preboot staging, hardware discovery, and automated hardware validation.
• Administer, troubleshoot, and modernize Linux network services including routing, VPN, and SSL/TLS management.
• Define and validate BOMs for enterprise server platforms and manage out-of-band configuration.
