Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to design, deploy, secure, automate, and maintain enterprise Linux servers across on‑prem and multi‑cloud environments.

The role focuses on enterprise Linux distributions, Canonical Landscape management for Ubuntu desktops, MFA/PAM integration, and lifecycle hardening to NIST SP 800‑171/CMMC Level 2. Expect hands‑on IaC work with Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet/Chef.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
• 8–12 years total IT infrastructure experience, with 6+ years on enterprise Linux systems.
• Deep administration of Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Ubuntu Server/Desktop.
• Experience managing Linux endpoints at scale using Landscape, Satellite, or Foreman.
• Experience implementing Linux MFA / authentication (YubiKey, PKI/Smartcard, Duo, Okta PAM).
• Hardening to NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2, or DISA STIG; SELinux/AppArmor, auditd, FIM, SIEM integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, and maintain mission-critical Linux servers across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Architect, deploy, and administer Canonical Landscape to manage Ubuntu endpoints.
• Implement MFA/PAM and central authentication with AD/LDAP bridges and sudoers delegation.
• Harden systems to NIST SP 800-171, DISA STIG, CIS Level 2 and monitor compliance.
• Develop and maintain IaC and config baselines with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet/Chef and scripting.
