Job summary

Level Up, LLC, a Virginia-based cyber security and IT solutions provider, seeks an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join the Linux team and maintain the Sponsor’s OS and hardware environments.

You will plan, test, install, and harden Linux servers, apply security patches, design interfaces to external systems, and collaborate with application development, network, and other teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 10+ years configuring and maintaining Linux servers.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or 10 years of related experience.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Experience with domain accounts (Centrify, LDAP, AD).
• Experience applying security patches in Linux.
• Strong shell scripting experience.
• Ability to manage a large, complex server environment.
• Experience with server hardware and components.
• Strong cross-team collaboration and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, test, install, integrate, and maintain new/updated OS versions.
• Build and harden Linux servers; establish configuration baselines.
• Apply patches and maintain patch management plans.
• Develop test plans and procedures.
• Replace server hardware components where necessary.
• Test and integrate software and hardware.
• Manage operating system lifecycles.
• Establish and operate environments; design interfaces to external systems.
• Research and resolve OS problems; adhere to standards.
• Troubleshoot OS problems with cross-team collaboration.
• Provide technical OS integration support to other teams.
• Maintain and update OS configuration documentation.
