Join Mauck Research Group in Springfield, VA as a Linux Administrator SME supporting day-to-day HPC operations on CSCF. You will automate, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure, collaborating with government stakeholders and contract teams to keep systems secure and high-performing.

The role emphasizes scripting, configuration management with Ansible/Satellite, and strong communication to maintain critical mission systems.

Qualifications

• Top Secret / SCI w/ CI Polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or AIS + 10 years of experience.
• 5+ years supporting system software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments.
• Proficient in Bourne/Bash and Expect scripting.
• Experience managing Red Hat Satellite repositories for patching and custom kernel builds.
• Familiarity with Ansible and Satellite Server for automated configuration management.
• Experience with identity management systems (LDAP, token-based authentication).
• Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to analyze, debug, and maintain complex scripting codebases.

Responsibilities

• Automate tasking, debugging, and daily operational functions at scale.
• Provide hands-on, one-on-one support to resolve user access and system issues.
• Install and configure software libraries in RHEL/SE Linux using Bash and Expect scripting.
• Deliver projects on time following software engineering best practices.
• Support security, administration, and end-user teams in resolving complex issues.
• Optimize and maintain existing scripts for performance and reliability.
• Serve as the go-to Linux SME for the Operations & Maintenance staff.
• Author and maintain comprehensive documentation across all contract systems.
