Job summary

Odyssey Information Services seeks a Senior Linux Administrator to support Linux environments for a large, geographically distributed POS infrastructure. This is a hands‑on role focused on Linux OS image management, patching, hardware integration and production support, located 100% onsite in Dallas, TX. Required: 5+ years Linux OS administration with SUSE preferred, 5+ years scripting (Bash, KSH, Perl, Python).

Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder due to sensitive-access requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Linux OS Administration experience, SUSE strongly preferred.
• 5+ years scripting experience with Bash, KSH, Perl and/or Python.
• Must be able to work 100% onsite in Dallas, TX (75236) and be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Linux OS images supporting POS locations worldwide.
• Manage ongoing Linux patching for devices deployed in the field.
• Troubleshoot escalated Linux/POS issues with technicians across multiple locations.
• Work with hardware vendors to ensure JPOS device drivers function with current and future hardware.
• Support Linux integration with enterprise systems and infrastructure.
• Participate in after-hours on-call support for priority production issues.
