Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. seeks a Plant Operator to support production lines in our Athens, Tennessee facility. This role requires hands-on processing, equipment monitoring, and adherence to GMP and safety standards to deliver high-quality dairy products.

You will set up and operate line equipment, perform routine quality checks, document results, and collaborate with multiple departments to resolve issues and improve throughput on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years manufacturing/production experience preferred, in dairy or consumer goods.
• Certification and/or License may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment, including senior-level processing and operator roles such as Receiver, Blend/Filler/CIP/Retort/Evaporator/Pasteurizer operators.
• Clean, set up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line.
• Ensure proper materials are used for each product produced.
• Complete required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
• Review charts, screens, and specifications in hard copy and electronic format.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain plant equipment and complete cleaning checklist after each run.
• Prepare equipment for next run and adjust for size changes as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complicated operating difficulties.
• Maintain communication with other departments and report problems that may affect production.
• Ensure paperwork is clear and complete according to SOPs.
