NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP is hiring a Union: NYSEG Line Mechanic 1/C, 2/C Acceptable for the Geneva, NY area. The role involves complex work on energized lines under supervision, including transformer installations and switching operations.

The position requires several years of lineman experience, strong knowledge of line practices, and adherence to safety rules. Travel may be involved; a valid driver’s license is typically required.

Qualifications

• Three+ years experience as Second-Class Lineman or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical fundamentals for transmission/distribution.
• Familiar with Company Safety Rules and resuscitation methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex construction and maintenance on energized conductors and equipment.
• Do transformer installations, phasing, switching, tracing grounds on circuits.
• Install/disconnect meters and services as required; supervise others.
