Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior SampleManager LIMS Implementation Engineer to lead configuration, integration, and deployment of SampleManager solutions across diverse laboratory environments.

You will translate laboratory processes into robust configurations, collaborate with architects, project teams, and QA, and document designs and deployment steps while supporting upgrades and data validation in regulated settings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience implementing, configuring, or supporting LIMS/informatics solutions with hands-on implementation.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS configuration and implementation.
• Experience configuring laboratory workflows and customer-specific LIMS functionality.
• Experience with SampleManager Integration Manager and system integrations.
• Database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Programming in C#/.NET is desirable.
• Understanding of SDLC and regulated environments (GMP/GLP/FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
• Ability to translate requirements into working solutions and document designs.

Responsibilities

• Configure, customize, implement, and deploy SampleManager LIMS solutions across diverse lab environments.
• Serve as technical implementation expert applying product capabilities and best practices.
• Translate functional requirements into SampleManager configurations and implementations.
• Design and implement lab workflows, master data, business rules, and reports.
• Configure and support integrations between SampleManager and instruments and other systems.
• Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex issues.
• Support data mapping, migration, and validation during implementations/upgrades.
• Develop and execute unit and system tests and assist in validation.
• Produce technical and configuration documentation including design specs.
• Support upgrades and enhancements in existing customer environments.
• Estimate activities and identify dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, PMs, QA, and other engineers to deliver solutions.
• Provide knowledge transfer to project teams and customers.
• Contribute to standards and continuous improvement.
