Job summary

CMTA, based in New York, seeks a Senior Associate, Lighting Design with 10+ years’ experience to own project delivery from concept to construction. You’ll lead a NYC-based lighting team, manage scope, schedule, and budgets, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

You will mentor junior designers, advance design concepts, and ensure quality lighting documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, AGI. A strong portfolio and NYC familiarity help you succeed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in lighting design and project management.
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, fees, and budgets from concept through construction administration.
• Proven client interfacing experience with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior designers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and AGI for lighting design and documentation.
• Strong portfolio of diverse lighting design projects.
• Familiarity with the New York City market and regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of sustainable lighting practices and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple lighting design projects from concept through construction administration.
• Develop and maintain project scopes, fees, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets.
• Serve as primary client contact; lead meetings and manage deliverables and approvals.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, engineers, and contractors to keep projects moving.
