Job summary

Gulfshoresal seeks a Senior Lifeguard (Lieutenant) to supervise beach operations, perform rescues, and administer medical assistance. You will lead lifeguard teams, train staff, and ensure safety per Sarasota County ordinances.

A strong open water lifeguard background and CPR/AED certification are required. Position includes overseeing incident reporting, enforcing rules, and collaborating with leadership to maintain a safe and enjoyable beach environment for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of open water lifeguard experience.
• Current CPR/AED and Emergency Response certificates.
• Valid Florida Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
• Pass Sarasota County Basic Lifeguard Performance Test.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the assigned county-operated beach and supervise Lifeguards.
• Lead Lifeguard Operations leadership team and promote safe practices.
• Assist in development and ongoing training of Lifeguards.
• Complete performance evaluations with input and enforce rules as needed.
• Maintain lifeguard office, storage areas, and inventory of first aid supplies.
• Administer first aid/CPR/AED; rescue swimmers and coordinate emergency responses.
