Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of life underwriting experience.
• Expertise in substandard underwriting.
• Experience with large case underwriting.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to document rationale clearly and communicate decisions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate applications within authority by analyzing medical, financial, and lifestyle risk factors.
• Approve applications up to established authority limits and collaborate with reinsurers for large cases.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, advisors, and internal partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes and customer experience.
• Document rationale and communicate underwriting decisions clearly and professionally.
