Job summary

Symetra is seeking a Sr Underwriter to classify mortality risks using company guidelines with profitability in mind. You will apply sound underwriting judgment and maintain knowledge of life insurance products and industry practices.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a full underwriting caseload, with authority up to $1,000,000 per management discretion. This position supports a flexible full-time or hybrid work arrangement.

• High School diploma or equivalent experience required

Responsibilities

• Classify mortality risks in a sound, objective and consistent manner by applying company guidelines and philosophies with consideration for company profitability and marketplace needs.
• Sound financial underwriting and product knowledge is required along with an understanding of Symetra and life insurance industry practices.
• Handling and approval authority expectations are for at least $1,000,000 or based upon management discretion.
