Cumming Group is seeking an Associate Director, Project Management in San Francisco, CA to lead complex life sciences capital construction projects from planning through closeout.

The role requires experience with ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and lab facilities, plus strong leadership, client management and RFP execution skills. A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing multiple project teams (whole program) of various sizes.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain positive client relationships.
• Ability to maintain monthly project budgets.
• Experience developing RFPs for various scopes & providers.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and training junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a large project team or multiple project teams, ensuring client satisfaction, scope, cost, and schedule.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through performance excellence and strong client relationships.
• Maintain monthly project budgets and forecast expenditures.
• Manage monthly billing and projections for projects.
• Lead staff development through supervision, coaching and mentoring.
• Anticipate issues and guide teams to avoid and recover from them.
• Develop and oversee RFPs for consultants and contractors.
• Prepare and facilitate owner consultant, Architect, and GC RFPs.
• Monitor for internal/external conflicts and implement proactive mitigation.
• Train junior team members to build technical skills and competencies.
