Job summary

argenx is seeking an experienced US patent attorney to lead litigation and contested matters, shaping IP strategy for a multi-disease portfolio. You will coordinate with the LCIP team and outside counsel to drive portfolio value and protect innovations across the US and Europe, including biosimilar disputes and patent-office challenges.

Qualifications

US legal credentials required: JD, active bar admission in at least one US state, and USPTO registration.
Minimum eight years of life sciences patent litigation or contested-matter experience.
Ability to connect litigation risk with portfolio development and lead programs alongside contested matters.
Willingness to explore agentic AI workflows and adapt to evolving IP processes.

Responsibilities

Lead global IP dispute strategy and execution in collaboration with LCIP and external counsel.
Develop protection and enforcement strategies for argenx’s portfolio across major jurisdictions.
Oversee patent preparation, filing and prosecution in the US, Europe and beyond.
Manage external counsel, budgets, discovery, and key submissions across programs.
