Job summary

The University of Southern California (USC) seeks a Senior Instructional Lab Technician in Life Sciences to lead instructional lab tasks within the Dornsife Academic Support Hub. The role supports Human Biology labs across GE and Major courses and coordinates with lecturers to plan and execute experiments.

Based in USC's central Los Angeles campus, the position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant lab experience, with emphasis on safety, equipment maintenance and data handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combined experience/education substituted for minimum education.
• Experience with lab protocols and safety guidelines and data analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan lab exercises with lecturers.
• Test and conduct experiments, exercises and demonstrations.
• Construct, adapt or acquire specialized lab equipment.
• Provide technical assistance for pre- and post-experiment work in Human Biology labs.
• Maintain research facility in orderly, operable condition.
• Control and monitor supply inventories.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
