Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living is seeking a creative, compassionate Lifestyle Coordinator to help present and coordinate recreational programs for our assisted living residents and Reflections Memory Care neighbors. You’ll support residents in pursuing hobbies, plan engaging trips, and help with monthly calendars and communications.

Qualifications

• One year’s prior experience with a senior population, Alzheimer’s or dementia a plus.
• At least 6 months of recreation activity experience or event leadership in a care setting.
• Outgoing, warm and genuine caring personality.
• Able to create engaging programs for residents.
• Dependable with supervision of activities and events.
• Creative talents in one or more areas (art, music, readings, dance).
• Well-groomed, properly attired with professional demeanor.
• Strong listening and communication skills; positive, professional attitude.
• Ability to lead classes and speak in front of groups with ease and confidence.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Driving may be required to support off-site activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in presenting and coordinating recreational programs for assisted living residents and dementia care residents.
• Plan fun and safe trips to art galleries, theaters, venues and cultural programs.
• Prepare, print and distribute monthly calendars, newsletters and memos to residents.
• Assist in planned activities in the absence of the Director of Recreation.
• Maintain knowledge of residents’ backgrounds and interests to foster engagement.
