Job summary

National Life Group in Addison, TX is seeking a seasoned Compliance leader to influence enterprise strategy across the life and annuity businesses. You will lead people, partner with the Chief Compliance Officer for Life & Annuity, and ensure regulatory requirements are met while enabling innovation.

The role covers regulatory oversight, business advisory, investigations, customer protection, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in compliance and fixed life/annuity.
• Ability to think and execute at strategic and operational levels.
• Ability to independently research, interpret, and communicate complex regulatory subject matters to various audiences.
• Demonstrate tact and professionalism when interacting with leaders at all levels.
• Advanced problem-solving and project leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned teams across locations to design and implement compliant processes.
• Develop relationships with senior leaders, regulators, and stakeholders to foster a strong compliance culture.
• Provide compliance direction and communicate positions with independent judgement.
• Establish and sustain a focused team engaged with business partners.
• Coach and mentor direct reports for accountability and success.
• Contribute to compliance strategic planning with 1–3 year initiatives.
• Advise on regulatory developments and risk implications for business units.
• Deliver training and awareness sessions as needed.
• Participate in industry-compliant forums.
