Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced actuary to contribute to Inforce reviews and development of life insurance assumptions in a collaborative team. You will analyze data to forecast risks, focusing on mortality, lapse, and premium persistency, and translate results to non-technical audiences.

You will work with the Projection and Valuation Team to ensure consistent messaging and reconciliations, while mentoring peers and enhancing the assumption development process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Actuarial Science or related field.
• FSA or ASA designation required/preferred.
• 5+ years of actuarial experience required; more with ASA.
• Experience in valuation, projections, experience and pricing.
• Knowledge of GAAP, statutory and tax reporting for term/universal life.
• Proficient in SAS, Python, R or SQL.
• Experience in life insurance experience studies and assumption setting.
• Ability to manage concurrent deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Inforce experience reviews and support development of life mortality, lapse and premium persistency assumptions.
• Analyze statistical data to forecast risk and liability for future benefits; focus on Life assumption setting.
• Communicate results to non-technical audience.
• Collaborate with Projection and Valuation Team for consistent messaging and reconciliations.
• Provide peer review and guidance to actuarial teams.
• Support maintenance and enhancements of assumption development process.
• Develop and document internal controls for validating implementations with valuation and pricing data.
• Support ad-hoc requests for actuarial assistance.
