Job summary

Carver County’s Chanhassen Service Center seeks a Senior Licensing Specialist to lead Licensing Specialists, manage daily office flow, and handle high-volume customer service at the counter. You’ll process motor vehicle transactions, licenses, passports, and DNR items, while ensuring compliance and staff guidance in the absence of leadership.

You will train staff, schedule tasks, and resolve complex customer issues, contributing to efficient service delivery and a positive citizen experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years paid work experience in an administrative, DMV setting or related customer service role.
• Must be able to prove US Citizenship.
• Must pass a BCA background check.
• Must hold Motor Vehicle Title Certification (active).
• Passport training and certification must be kept current (Passport staff).
• Valid driver’s license or equivalent mobility.

Responsibilities

• Lead Worker responsibilities: assist supervisor/manager, schedule staff, ensure fraud identification, train new staff.
• Mentor License Center staff on customer service, policies, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide complex customer service: title, registration, licenses, DNR, passports, etc.
• Process license applications and registrations (motor vehicle titles, passports, DNR).
• Coordinate with federal, state, and county agencies for compliance.
• Participate in committees or represent the County as needed.
• Handle general office duties: reports, cash handling, deposits, inventory, supplies.
