We are looking for a Senior Licensing Engineer to help deploy advanced nuclear technology, focusing on Advanced Plant reactor projects. The role involves contributing to licensing and regulatory strategy for new nuclear plant development, ensuring compliance with domestic and international standards.

The position reports to the New Plants Licensing Manager for Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing and will directly support the growth of Westinghouse Advanced Plant development globally. Hybrid work arrangements (typically 2 days in an office) are available at one of the Westinghouse U.S. Engineering Office locations, including Cranberry Woods, PA or Rock Hill, SC.

Responsibilities

• Implement licensing strategies for new nuclear plant technologies, with emphasis on AP1000 and AP300 designs.
• Support proposal development through technical input, scope definition, and schedule coordination.
• Prepare regulatory submittals including Safety Analysis Reports, license amendment requests, and Topical Reports.
• Support interactions with Westinghouse Engineering, customers/licensees, the U.S. NRC, and international regulatory bodies.
• Provide technical and regulatory expertise to internal stakeholders and leadership.
• Prepare and deliver licensing presentations to internal and external partners.
• Evaluate engineering design changes for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, or Chemical).
• Typically 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in nuclear licensing, including development of 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations, license amendments, and topical reports.
• Familiarity with NRC regulations and nuclear industry guidance.
• Familiarity with AP1000 design, operation, and work processes.
• Strong nuclear safety and customer focus outlook.
• 10% travel to support customer, industry, or regulator activities, with opportunities for additional travel.

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
