Job summary

American Family Insurance in Denver, CO is seeking a licensing specialist to ensure renewal and licensing applications comply with state and federal regulations. The role handles producer licenses, renewals and appointments, reporting, and database maintenance in a hybrid work setup.

You will monitor licensing communications, manage regulatory changes, and support the licensing team in processing and tracking licenses, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory insurance licensing processes.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of querying, analysis and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Processes producer new and renewal licensing applications on behalf of the producer for accuracy and completeness. Ensures licenses are maintained.
  • Monitors producer licensing mailbox for communication requiring responses or follow-up. Maintains confidentiality of highly sensitive producer employee information submitted to obtain licensing on their behalf. Communicates status of applications and renewals as necessary.
  • Maintains licensing database. Discusses recommended articles/updates necessary to maintain accurate licensing information as referenced by licensed producers.
  • Processes company appointments into system. Understands state specific licensing requirements and confirms compliance requirements.
  • Reviews proposed and enacted legislation, bulletins, and regulations to determine impact and makes recommendations on actionable items to the department manager.
  • Monitors and communicates license renewal reminders. Ensures invoice payments are made in time and reconciliation is complete.

Job Profile Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring renewal and licensing applications are processed in compliance with state and federal regulations, industry requirements, insurance department regulations, corporate policies and ethical standards. Responsible for all aspects of maintaining producer licenses and renewals, coordinating producer appointments and managing motor club licensing and renewals. You will report to Senior Manager of Agency Field Support Distribution.

Position Compensation Range

$25.00 - $34.32

Pay Rate Type

Hourly

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Processes producer new and renewal licensing applications on behalf of the producer for accuracy and completeness. Ensures licenses are maintained.

Discusses issues and concerns regarding state and regulatory licensing changes with licensing team to identify possible impact to licensing procedures.
  • Orders and reviews reports for action. Ensures operating procedures are followed in a timely and efficient manner to ensure compliance in all producer licensing activities.
  • Monitors and communicates license renewal reminders. Ensures invoice payments are made in time and reconciliation is complete.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

You will work 10 days per month from the office in this hybrid role. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Denver, CO 80112; Eden Prairie, MN 55343; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034.
