Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Licensed Surveyor to join our Survey group for our Newport News, VA office. The Licensed Surveyor is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects and client accounts, performing design-related surveying using Civil 3D, modeling and CADD technology.

This role requires 5–10 years of surveying experience, an active LS license, and strong client development and project accounting abilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Surveying/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Licensed (LS) in one or more states where Timmons Group conducts business.
5–10 years of surveying experience.
Experience with Civil 3D software.
Experience creating machine control models and using GPS/RTK technology.
Understanding of project accounting, budgeting and scheduling for multiple projects.
Experience in client development and supervising field crews.

Responsibilities

Manage assigned projects and client accounts, ensuring profitability and schedule.
Market and develop clients, negotiate scopes and fees, and oversee billing.
Maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services.
Coordinate project staff and communicate with clients and design team.
Oversee design-related surveying using software, modeling and CADD.
Handle boundary, topographic, construction, control networking, and HD surveys.
Perform surveying calculations and use computers for problem solving.
