Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC is seeking a Library Associate 3 in California to lead story times and children's programs, supervise junior staff, and provide exemplary customer service at the circulation desk. The role includes planning activities, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring privacy and policy compliance for patrons.

The Senior position requires a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred) with several years of library experience and some supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• Customer service excellence and written/verbal communication in a library setting.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred for patron interactions.
• Experience with library databases and circulation systems.
• Bachelor's degree preferred plus three years library experience; supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons and provide tours; assist at circulation desk.
• Plan and run storytimes and children's programs; coordinate volunteers.
• Process new materials and maintain catalog records; ensure item labeling accuracy.
• Enforce library rules and privacy policies with patrons.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and reference desk support.
• Coordinate volunteers and train staff as needed.
