Job summary

Library Systems & Services Llc is seeking a Library Associate 3 - Adult Services Assistant. The role focuses on programming and frontline service at the circulation desk, plus supervising Junior Library Associates as needed.

The position emphasizes planning adult-focused programs, coordinating volunteers, and maintaining high levels of patron service while adhering to library policies and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three years library experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency with library systems and databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Multilingual speaking is a plus.
• MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) proficiency desired.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a regular schedule including days, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide exceptional customer service at the library.
• Serve as building manager, oversee circulation staff and coordinate facility needs.
• Collaborate with Librarians to plan and promote programs across age groups, with focus on adults.
• Assist with processing newly acquired materials and weeding as directed.
• Inform patrons about library rules and enforce policies as needed.
• Help with daily opening and closing procedures.
• Support reference desk and AskUs email service with inquiries.
• Manage Community Room rentals and maintain reservation records.
• Assist with monthly or biweekly displays.
• Adhere to Library Bill of Rights and privacy policies and maintain discretion.
