Job summary

The University of Michigan Library in Ann Arbor seeks an Associate University Librarian (AUL) to provide visionary, strategic, and administrative leadership for advancing the library's technical infrastructure, services, and innovation.

Reporting to the Dean of Libraries, the AUL will supervise six department directors and a staff of over 80 librarians and professionals, guiding planning, budgeting, policy, training, and stakeholder collaboration across the university.

Qualifications

• Visionary, strategic, and administrative leadership for shaping and advancing the Library's technical infrastructure and services.
• Experience supervising department directors and large staff.
• Strong collaboration with university partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning for the Library's operations and policy development.
• Oversee budgeting, communications, training, and professional activities of the division.
• Strengthen partnerships across the university and consortial networks to leverage resources.
• Supervise 6 department directors and over 80 librarians and staff.
