Job summary

University of California Riverside seeks an Associate University Librarian (AUL) for User Services, Research and Technology to lead and advance library services for students and faculty. Qualifications

• Master's degree in library and/or information science or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of administrative or leadership experience in an academic or research library.
• Experience managing a user-facing function (reference, teaching, research services, and access services).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver user-centered services.
• Strong collaboration and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and professional representation of the library.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership on policy, budget, HR, space planning, communication, development, technology, cyberinfrastructure, and digital initiatives.
• Collaboratively define goals and implement strategic plans for library operations, services, programs, and infrastructure.
• Integrate operations of access services, reference, instruction, research services and cyberinfrastructure for seamless and user-oriented access to library services.
• Foster collaboration and effectively work through people.
• Promote a welcoming environment onsite and virtually.
• Develop, implement, and refine programs to enhance information literacy including AI literacy, data management, and digital scholarship.
• Plan, design, and operate user services across UCR Library, including instruction, research services, access services, and web/digital infrastructure.
• Coordinate and streamline reference, instruction and research services across two libraries.
