Job summary

Solano County Library is seeking a Supervising Librarian to lead a division or branch, oversee budgets, and engage with the public and community partners. The role combines first-line supervision with professional librarian duties within County policy and library standards.

The position requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science and at least three years of professional librarian experience, with independent travel as a possible requirement.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of experience performing professional librarian duties.
• Independent travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise and participate in the work of a division or library branch.
• Oversee budgets for materials and supplies and interact with the public and external organizations.
• Develop programs of community interest and contribute to the department's supervisory team.
• Interpret, enforce and carry out duties within County and library policy while performing professional librarian work.
